Faction Name: The Order of the Black Knights
Leader Name: Zero
Banner:
Members: Zero, Kallen Kozuki
Provinces Controlled: None
Stronghold Description: For the moment, these are limited to constantly-changing isolated rendezvous points. Security is heavy, but not enough to hold the position against a coordinated military attack.
Policies:
Gender and Marriage: Being a rebel group, rather than a traditional faction, the Black Knights are too militaristic to even hold the thought of marriage. Most of them coming from oppressed backgrounds means they're not of enough status to have been in an arranged marriages prior to joining. Gender has no say in the Black Knights, and much like the very kingdom it fights, values members entirely on their skill.
Honor: The Black Knights do not always fight on equal ground, typically using underhanded tactics to their advantage. However, being almost entirely composed of individuals with strong senses of justice, they will never direct their attacks at innocent, and only rarely treat them as collateral damage. Ranks exist within the Order, but not to such a degree that a superior's orders can't be questioned. The Black Knights will take the defense of Sawa from Riftspawn as one of their duties if it is an emergency and they are not currently in other confrontations, but they are not above using them for their own ends, such as taking advantage of opposing forces facing two enemies at a time. Religion is not prohibited to its members, but there is no emphasis on it.
Roles: Its existence as a rebellious movement means the Black Knights have no such thing as courtiers or magistrates, at least not officially recognized ones. Commanders, Engineers and Intelligence Operatives follow a ranking structure, but do not carry any particular honor or stigma inherent to their jobs.
Laws: The Black Knights do not have an official court system. Their intention, however, is to establish regulations forbidding Amestris to expand its territory, as well as minimize its discrimination, latent as it may be, against any other countries. On paper, this also applies to all other countries, intending to keep a balance of power between them all.
Peasants and Commoners: The majority of the Black Knights is composed by this group, having seen enough social injustice to decide to act upon it. The Black Knights actually favor the lower classes, the core of their ideology lying in an ideal balance of power.
Money: Business with higher classes is rarely, if ever, done. Subsequently, most of the currency flowing through the Black Knight rebellion is composed of Marks. This could change with the passage of time as the rebellion increases its influence, however. Trade within the Black Knights is unheard of. Apart from necessities, personal expenses are based on their own funds, while support for the Black Knights comes from any groups, underground or otherwise, who see it in their best interest to stop Amestrian expansion. It is the norm for Black Knights to purchase supplies under false company names.
